Biography
Patricia K Farris, M.D. is a clinical assistant professor at Tulane University School of Medicine. She is in private practice in Metairie Louisiana at Old Metairie Dermatology and in Manchester, Vermont at the Center for CosMedic Rejuvenation and Wellness. Dr Farris received her medical degree from Tulane and completed her residency in dermatology at Tulane where she served as chief resident.
Dr Farris is a board certified dermatologist and a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. She has served and chaired numerous committees for the Academy. Dr Farros is also an active member of the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery and the International Society for Cosmetic Dermatology. She has been named among top dermatologists by New Orleans Magazine, voted "The Best Dermatologist" by readers of New Orleans Gambit Magazine and is among America's Top Doctors.
Dr Farris serves as a spokesperson for her specialty and has received two presidential awards from the American Academy of Dermatology for her outstanding efforts in communications. She has appeared in over 200 health-related television segments on dermatology including appearances on CNN, NBC News and Good Morning America. Dr Farris has been quoted extensively in newspaper and magazines including Allure, Prevention, O Magazine, Elle, Shape, W, In Style, Real Simple and the New York Times.
Dr Farris is known for her expertise in the treatment of aging skin and has lectured internationally on this subject. Her specific areas of interest include topical skin care and cosmeceuticals. She has served as a consultant to major cosmetic companies and pharmaceutical companies where she lends her expertise to help with new product development and marketing strategies.
